Hey there! I’m Tammy, the artist behind Kotten Bellies and a lifelong creator who apparently can’t not make things. I stitched my first doll back when big hair and yo-yo clowns were all the rage, and I’ve been chasing that creative itch ever since.
Over the years I’ve tried just about every art form that would sit still, polymer clay dolls, cloth dolls, comic books, even a round of stand-up comedy (yes, really). I opened my first Etsy shop back in 2008 with a name (Crazy Monkey Girl Head Studios) so long it needed its own zip code. I had fun, but I didn’t have a plan, and making a variety of one-of-a-kind items nonstop will burn you out faster than a cheap sewing machine motor.
But Kotten Bellies? That idea never let go. It kept poking me from the back of my mind saying, “Hey… remember me?” So after leaving my full time job in early 2022, I decided to finally stop ignoring it and build the doll business I’d been dreaming about for years.
Every doll you see here is made from my own patterns and original designs, from traditional dolls to some unique little characters that beg me to be made. I put a lot of heart (and fleece) into each one, and my goal is simple: make dolls that feel special whether you’re adopting one for yourself or gifting it to someone who’ll treasure it.
If you want a peek behind the curtain or see what’s currently taking shape on my worktable, come hang out with me on Instagram or Facebook . I love connecting with people who enjoy a little handmade magic in their lives.
Thanks for being here.Your support is everything!
Tammy
